Memorial Day 2017

Here are some things to reflect on regarding the United State of America.

For many years we have been losing our freedoms. Piece by piece taken away by ever expanding laws, rules and regulations; ever expanding government.

There is a spectrum in regards to life and society. On one end is liberty and freedom. On the other end is tyranny. Any movement or step towards one of those is also a step away from the other.

Freedoms are gained at such great cost,
But are so easily forfeited and lost.

Lyrics from The Star-Spangled Banner”
(Especially note the clear references to God in verse 4.)

Complete version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” showing spelling and punctuation from Francis Scott Key’s manuscript in the Maryland Historical Society collection.

O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light, What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket’s red glare, the bomb bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there, O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam, In full glory reflected now shines in the stream, ‘Tis the star-spangled banner – O long may it wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore, That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion A home and a Country should leave us no more? Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave, And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand Between their lov’d home and the war’s desolation! Blest with vict’ry and peace may the heav’n rescued land Praise the Power that hath made and preserv’d us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto – “In God is our trust,” And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

In God We Trust by Eric Horner

“Our nation was built on pillars of faith by those who could clearly see truth
Men, who sought freedom and earnestly prayed for a place to start their lives anew
To speak without fear, to worship and livein any manner they might choose
After these many years, their answered prayers continue to bless me and you.

In God we Trust for we believe He is the Author of our liberty
Together we stand, united as one
On the Rock of Ages as our Fathers had done
Because of His great love for us, In GodWe Trust

He is our hope for what lies ahead ourpromise in uncertain days
There are those in this world who have taken a pledge to destroy what the Father has raised
But He is faithful and true and He will carry us through the battles our enemies wage
When we understand we are safe in His hands, we’re free to live unafraid

In God we Trust for we believe He is the Author of our liberty
Together we stand, united as one
On the Rock of Ages as our Fathers have done
In God We Trust

In God we Trust for we believe
He is the Author of our liberty
Together we stand, united as one
On the Rock of Ages as our Fathers have done
Because of His great love for us, In GodWe Trust
In God We Trust
In God We Trust

Video of In God We Still Trust

Diamond Rio Lyrics

“In God We Still Trust” You place your hand on His Bible, when you swear to tell the Truth
His name is on our greatest Monuments, and all our money too,
And when we Pledge allegiance, there’s no doubt where we stand,
There is no separation, we’re one Nation under Him.

In God We Still Trust
Here in America
He’s the one we turn to every time
The goin’ gets rough
He is the source of all our Strength
The One who watches over us
Here in America
In God We Still Trust

Now there are those among us, who want to push Him out,
And erase His name from everything, this country’s all about,
From the Schoolhouse to the Courthouse, they’re Silencing His Word,
Now it’s time for all Believers, to make our Voices heard.

In God We Still Trust,
Here in America
He’s the one we turn to every time
The goin’ gets rough
He is the source of all our Strength
The One who watches over us
Here in America
In God We Still Trust

Here in America
Here in America
Here in America,

In God We Still Trust
Here in America,

In God We Still Trust
Here in America
